How to Get Motivated When You Just Can’t Even

We’re in the final stretch… the holiday season is in full swing, yet there’s still business to be taken care of. Whether you’re cramming for finals or trying to get through the holiday rush at work, it’s normal to feel a little overwhelmed with the promise of winter vacation just around the corner.

Here are some of our best tips for getting motivated when you feel like you just can’t even:

Treat Yourself

Sometimes it’s the little things that matter the most. Reward yourself for your hard work. Whether it’s just taking a break from studying to go out to a nice dinner, or making sometime to watch your favorite show, giving yourself small things to work towards makes facing the big things easier.

Get into the Spirit

Just because you still have a couple weeks before you can officially ~relax~, that doesn’t mean you have to refrain from all festivities. Carve out time on the weekends (or whenever you have more time) to partake in holiday events. Go to your holiday parties, start checking off names on your gift list, or decorate you apartment. All work and no play has never worked out well for anyone.

Make Lists!

Sometimes, when life gets overwhelming, it’s hard to put things into perspective. By simply writing down your overall to-do list, or breaking it up by day or week, it becomes easier to conquer each task as it comes.

You can also make lists for the fun things – like what you need to do to get ready for the holidays – to give yourself some inspiration for getting through the boring things.
